Street level map plotting events

    Search for the base map
  1. Enter a region in the search box.
  2. Choose MapQuest with 19 levels of zoom, up to the block view.
  3. Navigate the map to display the area you are interested in.
  4. Navigate to your current location, based on your computing device IP address.
  5. Click "Crop Rectangle" button, then extend the crop area by dragging the yellow square.
  6. Confirm your selection.
    Getting ready to plot points on your street base map
  1. Set canvas size and reposition viewport. It is important to keep "Basic Style" feature enabled. It holds the the background map you are using.
  2. Check your "Limitations" for how large the map canvas can be set, and how many points you can upload.
  3. Enable "Locations" feature.
  4. Enable "Markers" feature.
  5. Load your data points.

  1. Choose Geographic Coordinates type if you have prepared your data set as Latitude-Longitude points.
  2. Select comma separator if your data fields are separated by a comma character.
  3. Paste your points data set.
  4. Validate your data formatting and display the points.

  1. You might not want to use a stroke for the circle symbol.
  2. Set the Fill color.
  3. Choose a darker color and set a higher transparency.
  4. Adjust point representation size. More points - smaller the size.

Drill down to some interest areas

Using MapQuest base map you could zoom down to the intersection level.
Click the crop control then drag the markers to set the new "interest area".
