Plotting points - Bubble Map

It is important to use a SVG shape marker /symbol/ to be able to apply a transparent fill color.
High concentration area will appear darker why low concentration area will appear lighter.
To create a bubble map, you can either:
  • Use one Marker set - for each point in your data set, add a 3rd field as the size of the point /bubble/ in pixels.
  • Use multiple Marker sets - use the same circle /symbol/ type, but with different sizes /and colors/ for each set.

Bubble Map with a single Marker set

Getting ready to plot points on your map work
  1. Start by setting the canvas background and outline shape /division/ color.
  2. Enable "Locations" feature.
  3. Enable "Markers" feature.
  4. You may not want to display any labels for your points. Reset font size /set 0/.
  5. Pick a SVG symbol from our library. You'll adjust later the symbol style, by setting a transparency for the fill color.
  6. Setting a size for the marker symbol is not necessarily.
  7. Choose to have the marker centered on the point's coordinates.
    Add your points set
  1. Choose Geographic Coordinates type if you have prepared your data set as Latitude-Longitude points.
  2. Select comma separator if your data fields are separated by a comma character.
  3. Paste your points data set. Note each point has set a size in pixels. No labels are needed.
  4. Validate your data formatting and display the points.
Adjusting how your points are plotted on the map work
  1. Preview how the points are plotted.
  2. Adjusting the circle size won't have any effect since you have set a size for each point when you uploaded your data.
  3. Set the Fill color.
  4. Choose a darker color and set a higher transparency.
    Complete your visualization
  1. Load more points.
  2. Increase the transparency /decrease opacity/ of the fill color, to adjust the visualization.

Bubble Map with multiple Marker sets

When you choose to use multiple data sets to visualize your data on a "Bubble Map", divide your data by the characteristics represented by each set.
When you load your data points, there is no need to set a label or a point size. Only the latitude-longitude coordinates are needed.
    Using multiple Marker data sets
  1. Add more Marker sets, up to 12 for PRO users.
  2. Choose a library SVG shape to represent your points for each Marker set.
  3. Set a representation point size in pixels for each Marker set.
  4. Adjust symbol outline /stroke/. A transparent color should be used.
  5. Adjust symbol fill color. A transparent color should be used.
